Greetings from the City of Dubai!

February 2008 will witness the launch of a new dialogue for development at the international and multi-cultural level of European and Arab Cities. The Euro-Arab Cities Forum is a unique event which aims to establish partnerships between cities, regions and local authorities on many fields relating to urban development, environmental preservation, service excellence and sustainable development.

Dubai is extremely well known for its warm hospitality and rich cultural heritage, and the Emirati people are welcoming and generous in their approach to visitors.

Under the patronage of the Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Industry and Chairman of Dubai Municipality Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum,This year the forum is in its 3rd cycle and is being held at Dubai, UAE to over 60 Mayors from the key European and 60 Mayors from key Arab cities, and more than 40 international organizations inviting them to take part in this New Dialogue for Development.

The Euro-Arab Cities Forum represents a gateway to development through bridging cultures, exchanging expertise and crossing borders. It was launched 20 yrs ago, in 1988, when the first Euro-Arab Cities Forum was held in the city of Marrakech, Morocco and was followed in 1994 by the second Forum which was held in Valencia, Spain.

And today we are proud to be hosting this event in Dubai City, which in itself represents a perfect example of what dedication to perfection and commitment to growth and excellence can achieve. Welcome to this collaboration initiative which undertakes to build a promising future for Arab & European cities alike.

The Forum's Objectives:

- To bridge cultures and exchange expertise in order to create long-term partnerships and cooperation between the cities on all levels.

- To highlight best practices and their benefits, and enhance them by adapting them to the Euro-Arab needs.

- To establish a permanent committee for the forum that would ensure its continuity.
